Our Mission
X-Labs is a new type of High Tech Developer Network, one fully dedicated to helping the current and next generation of A.I. Specialists as a non-profit support system. Our mission is to utilize our very large membership as a resourceful "Knowledge Base" to help schools, organizations, municipalities and industry integrate "Best Practices" of the newest intelligence-based technologies safely and securely. Quickly.
We fully believe project-based learning with students and industry partners is a winning combination. We play a Mentoring Role in HCC's "AISITE" laboratory tech hub eco-system. The projects on the right are just a snapshot of what is being done. The results are impressive.

Our Story
Our basic idea is - now is the most exciting time period in human history.
We have opportunities to make, build, prototype and create almost anything because it is technologically possible. Not only is this enabling technically but the challenges to all other aspects of our intellect are equally as engaging. We
have opportunities to perform at our
highest possible levels technically, intellectually and socially.
X-Labs realizes that as a group we have knowledge and skills to offer that would be very difficult to locate independently. If we are going to put our best foot forward and maximize our potential then it is our responsibility to provide the services truly needed that currently have no appropriate model to follow. Therefore we have created our own method of contributing to our local community's betterment.
We are finding that our mission statement identifies some of the massive needs required to become
"A.I. Ready" at scale. We definitely have a role to play in this process.
As for our R & D side, most of our members are highly qualified specialists in all things technical and A.I. who are itching to build new things with all the latest tools. We are highly experienced at this point in our careers so we have a very good understanding for what can be accomplished. Most of us do custom work for hire as well as spec out what our companies need from the new technologies. To have an environment like HCC's AISITE Program where we have a chance to play with all the new toys is far easier than getting our companies to go thru red tape to start an on premises project. So this is a great win-win for us. Some of us also like teaching a course or two. The bottom line is X-Labs can be extremely helpful in this booming A.I. and Robotics environment. A good starting point is working by the project.
X-Labs is most proud of the support we can provide to schools like Houston Community College by offering mentoring, team project experience, portfolio creation, resources for internships/jobs and laboratory support.
X- Labs is uniquely skilled to help students learn, program, build and prototype their ideas and projects. Best of all they have experience to draw from, immediately.
Students can fulfill an existing course of study with Robots, Machine Learning, NLP, Computer Vision and Edge/IOT Computing or they can pursue working on an existing project for Social Good like IBM's Call for Code or they can zero in on a specific project they are most interested in learning about. X-Labs can also coordinate student teaming in local or national challenges, contests or races like the Nvidia Jetbot Racer Program.
The goal is to help students actualize their interests by getting started, producing some great work and moving on to the next interest area as they work in a collaborative team environment. Learn one, do one.

X-Labs represents live upskilling because A.I. and the newest intelligence-based technologies are forming everyday through new knowledge and use. The more we do the more we learn.
